Power

This rock was split in half by a seed.

God knows that His abundant power would overwhelm or kill people without His help. We were created in His image, but as you read further, I hope to clarify our role.

A massive amount of power without a transmission system is chaotic. Jesus said we don’t need a great or massive quantity of faith, just the measure - mustard seed in size. Faith is not quantized* by its size but is distributed to all believers equally. We have the privilege of accessing God’s power through faith in Jesus and our entangled** relationship with Him.

We are individually part of His body, making His life our life, and all associated properties through the Holy Spirit. God knew exactly how to make His power available to man without overwhelming him in the process. “Mustard seed” faith is like a switch that connects us to His power.

In our local utility company, there are high voltage transmission lines that deliver electricity to our homes. We can’t utilize the high voltage as generated by the power company, but it is transformed to a lower voltage before it is used in our homes and businesses. We, in simple terms, access this power by flipping a switch. We pay for this service and without question trust that that power will be present as desired. Faith gives a believer access to God’s power much the same way. Many times, we doubt whether it is present, but God is faithful and never suffers from a power outage.

Belief in Jesus and unbelief will dull man’s senses into a state of “equilibrium” Equilibrium is a term used in modern science and is not a spiritual condition to be desired. This condition masks the reality of being a new creation in Christ Jesus, acting as a barrier to our entanglement with God. A Christian’s unbelief acts as a connection to past experiences, where faith looks ahead.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for (not yet), the evidence of things that a past experience can’t see (Hebrews 11:1 paraphrased).

When an egg is shattered to pieces, directional time will not see it whole again. “No matter how hard you try, time cannot be reversed to make a shattered egg whole again. This so-called arrow of time is explained in physics by the fact that most systems, if left alone, evolve toward a state of equilibrium. This state is well understood in the classical world (sense driven) but remains a mystery in the quantum realm.” (Physics.org) (emphasis added)

This scientific example of an irreparable egg can leave most people with a sense of hopelessness. It is an example where science and worldly knowledge will guide a person to a conclusion rooted in unbelief, or equilibrium. But give it more thought in light of Kingdom realities as opposed to our sense-driven world. As born-again believers, we now live in two distinct realms: Our three-dimensional reality (earth), and the realm of the Spirit. God sees things differently, much more than we can comprehend.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:3-4 NKJV emphasis added).

We were chosen in Him in what we understand as the past. This can be a bit confusing, but God lives outside the confinement of time.

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God (Mark 10:27 NIV).”

Science theorizes with notions, mathematics, and some conjecture. However, God has so ordered the universe and our spiritual lives to follow Kingdom laws where regardless of directional time, a shattered egg can be made whole again. And mustard seed faith can not only split a rock but move a mountain.

Regardless of theories and notions, spiritual truths can be clearly seen, as scientific research only cracks the door to Kingdom laws. When we relegate our Kingdom authority to the sense-driven world and science, we immerse ourselves in unbelief. Don’t let science hinder your understanding. After all the scientific discoveries, God created science and has given us the mind of Christ. (1 Corinthians 2:16).

We are able to access zoe life from the realm of the Spirit, no longer living life in total confinement to three dimensions. Yet, these two realities meet as Jesus instructed us to pray:

Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. (Matthew 6:10 NKJV emphasis added)

The opening picture relates the idea of one simple seed overcoming natural confinement to its position. Acceptance to just natural events is akin to unbelief and will never break into the freedom of the children of Light. The condition known as “equilibrium” in science is unbelief. This condition aligns well-meaning Christians with death because it is natural to a sense-driven person. God, faith, salvation, and eternity - to name a few - are areas in our lives that we believe, but can’t taste, smell, touch, hear, or feel them. These realities exist, and are experienced, in the realm of the Spirit. Our new life in the Spirit grants us access to spiritual realities that can’t be experienced otherwise.

He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son (Revelation 21:7 NKJV emphasis added).

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us (Ephesians 3:20 NIV).

What we allow to grow in our heart will release His power through faith in Jesus. The first step is to plant the seed of God’s word in your heart, and then watch!
