Don’t Talk With Your Mouth Full
All too often, when I have had a revelation of truth, I begin to speak of it before I have completely chewed the “food” that my heart, soul, mind, and body so desperately needs. My intentions are good. It tastes so good that I want everyone to have some. But it’s premature, as I haven’t taken the needed time to chew it well—to ruminate and meditate—on what Holy Spirit has fed me. In so doing, I inadvertently circumvent the digestion and assimilation needed for the truth to become part of me. To become in me.
I’m so thankful for Holy Spirit highlighting and encouraging me in this matter. This has become, and is becoming, sweet and nourishing revelation to me, and in me.
Every good and perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures. So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, and slow to speak…(James 1:17-19).
