All Things Are Possible
But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26 NKJV)
Christianity today has accepted and rejected many resources that can contribute to greater understanding of who we are. However, modern interpretations, like extra-biblical and secular resources found on the internet, can be confusing if not carefully examined. Our challenge, regardless of the resource, is to examine the information against Scripture and trust Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth.
As an example, science has made a discovery called Quantum Field Theory, or QFT, but this discovery, though partial and without biblical context, requires the element of faith (a gift from God), which most scientists do not possess.
“If you’ve ever wondered what are we actually made of, you probably found yourself going down a rabbit hole of discoveries. Just like other living things, of course, we’re made of cells. And cells, in turn, are made of molecules and molecules are made of atoms. Dig even deeper and pretty soon you’ll find yourself at the level of electrons and quarks. These are the particles that have traditionally been considered to be the end of the line, the fundamental building blocks of matter."
But today, we know that’s not really the case. Instead, physicists tell us that at the deepest level, everything is made up of mysterious entities, fluid-like substances that we call quantum fields. These invisible fields sometimes act like particles, sometimes like waves. They can interact with one another. They can even, some of them, flow right through us. The theory of quantum fields is arguably the most successful scientific theory of all time. In some cases, it makes predictions that agree with experiments to an astonishing 12 decimal places. On top of that, quantum field theory has also been shedding enormous light on certain questions in pure mathematics, especially in the study of four-dimensional shapes and even higher dimensional spaces. Yet, there’s also reason to believe that quantum field theory is missing something. It seems to be mathematically incomplete, leaving us with many unanswered questions.” Quantummagazine.org
Fields of possibility containing the building blocks of substance yet originating from the unseen reveal the work of God. The fields become disturbed or excited when spoken to. Coherent observation is a deliberate action by the observer and creates a disturbance pattern in the field where a wave is formed. Continued coherent observation causes the wave to respond as it becomes a particle. So, why is this important? It’s just another key that can help us understand God and His ways. God is not a magician, and all His ways follow His spiritual laws. His “field” of grace contains all things, and our faith throws the switch that bridges potential into our three-dimensional world. Without potential the field is just a possibility.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1 NKJV).
The earth is like a quantum field and contains all possibilities, but they are only realized when specific, coherent words (seeds) are spoken. Seeds contain the pattern or plan for what grows. They are planted in the earth, and the earth brings forth what the individual seed represents.
… “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground,and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how. For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head (Mark 4:26-28 NKJV).
An interesting side note on seeds is that they have a specific purpose. For instance, an apple seed will never produce corn. When we sow a seed, it has coherence and will only yield what it represents. Everything we see in the natural realm follows the spiritual laws that God set up in Genesis and is brought forth by the earth.
Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth" and it was so (Genesis 1:11 NKJV).
Seeds activate what is in the earth, but without a seed, nothing is produced. We must understand the power of God’s word when planted in a heart of faith. A seed provides the substance of what is hoped for, and coherent observation is like persistent hope—similar to how we imagine or visualize what we desire. Science knows what seeds, water, and light do, but the “how” remains a mysterious theory. God used faith (words) in creation, and Scripture teaches that without faith, it is impossible to please God, yet science has been unable to write a mathematical equation to prove faith’s existence.
He does great things past finding out, Yes, wonders without number (Job 9:10 NKJV).
In the verse above, Strong defines the word number as ‘a number definitely arithmetical.’— in other words, wonders that cannot fit in a mathematical equation.
But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned (1 Corinthians 2:14 NKJV).
Science has uncovered strange behavior in discoveries such as Quantum Field Theory (QFT), superposition*, entanglement*, wave-particle duality, and many others. However, it fails to acknowledge God’s ever-present involvement in His creation. As His heirs, we have the right to simply believe God’s word, even when we don’t fully understand––just as I trusted my earthly parents to provide for my needs as a child without understanding how.
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God (Romans 5:1-2 NKJV).
We acknowledge God, and that without Him we can do nothing. But we are never without Him. From the foundation of the world God made up His mind how His provision would serve mankind without interruption. He made all things, and the earth brings forth all we want or need through seed. Our own failure to coherently observe and know this truth subtly introduces “maybe” into the equation, subverting possibilities. All things are possible when we acknowledge Him and abide in Him—and because He abides in us, all things are truly possible.
If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you (John 15:7).
This changes everything!
