Psalm 19:1

The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament shows His handiwork.

This image was captured with a special camera, compiling multiple exposures over time. Proprietary software was used to reveal this beautiful photo of the Orion Nebula. The Nebula has occupied a fixed position since creation though invisible to the naked eye.

When we observe the night sky, we may only see stars. Remove the light noise from city lights and we see more. To observe the beauty of the heavens, we must get away from civilization. The same method can be used in studying God’s word. The more we expose ourselves to His truths, the more understanding we gain. These truths have been with us all along. Our repeated exposure to His word brings its beauty into focus.

We receive God’s word much the same as the camera example, but as we focus our attention on Christ being formed in us, we are changed and reflect the glory of God.

Oh, magnify the Lord with me, And let us exalt His name together. I sought the Lord, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears. They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them (Psalm 34:3).

My little children, for whom I labor in birth again until Christ is formed in you (Galatians 4:19).

If you are like me, I find it amazing that the Orion Nebula even exists. But it can serve as a reminder of the glory of God in us.

And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one (John 17:22).
